Niton Primary is the first primary school on the Island to be awarded Gold ‘Peach’ (Partnership for Education, Attainment and Children’s Health) Award.

We are absolutely delighted to be able to share the news that we are the first primary school on the Island to be awarded the GOLD ‘PEACH’ (Partnership for Education, Attainment and Children’s Health) Award.

Working in tandem with public health colleagues, the Island’s Executive Head-teacher Group have produced a framework for Island school’s which builds on the previous National Healthy Schools Award. PEACH focuses on four key areas, which are:

  • personal, social, health and economic education
  • emotional wellbeing and ment
  • al health
  • physical activity
  • healthy eating

To be the first primary school on the Island to receive the top award is testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff who have championed this initiative and undergone the intense assessment process.

After successfully achieving a Bronze Award, schools can choose to progress to a Silver and/or Gold award. The PEACH Gold Award requires a school to develop and progress a specially designed project, targeting a specific area they’d like to focus on within their setting. The project must directly influence at least 1 of the 4 health domains of PEACH, and the school must work together with multiple schools to take this forward.
